Radisson recognizes their need for AP Automation
In 2021, the Radisson Hotel Group was set to rapidly grow its business. However, with that growth and the uncertainty of COVID-19, also came the need to consider AP automation to streamline their AP processes. Dean Olevson, Director of Finance at Radisson Blu reached out to Steve Erickson, our resident Sage 300 and hospitality industry expert for his advice on how to overcome these challenges.
The AP teams at Radisson Blu Hotel in Minneapolis, MN, Radisson Blu Mall of America, Radisson Blu Anaheim, and Radisson Hotel Salt Lake City Downtown hotels were still using a paper-based process for approving invoices. Since COVID-19 had changed the way they worked and a lot of their team was working remotely, they needed to find an efficient, cost-effective, and electronic solution to get invoices approved without relying on paper and manual data entry.
Before AP Automation
Prior to implementing Beanworks AP Automation, also known as Sage AP Automation, there were about 10 people with approval permission at the hotel. If those key people were not on the premises, there were unnecessary delays in the invoice approval process. This became difficult and even impossible when people worked remotely.
“Managers would get the paper invoices, give them codes and then sign them off,” explained Director of Finance, Dean Olevson. “They would go to the AP clerk who would then manually add the data into the system. Then they would come to me, to check the codes and approve them in batches.” It was a lengthy process that was error-prone and inefficient.
After hearing about Radisson’s AP department’s challenges, Steve Erickson recommended that Radisson consider the Beanworks AP automation solution, also known as Sage AP Automation. The solution is known to be able to save up to 86% of time processing invoices. After considering their options, Radisson Hotel decided to move forward with the Beanworks AP automation solution.
After AP Automation
Since implementing Beanworks, the AP invoice approval process has become much more streamlined and conducive to employees working remotely. There is now no need for the approvers to go to the accounting office, they simply receive email notifications.
