Sage 300 vs. Sage 300 Cloud

At its core, Sage 300 and Sage 300 Cloud are both the same system. The terms Sage 300 or Sage 300 ERP are often used to refer to the perpetual or desktop version of the software.

Sage 300 Cloud refers to the desktop version plus web-screens, additional add-ons, and feature-enhancements that are now available in the subscription version of the software.

The main differences between Sage 300 and Sage 300 Cloud include:

Licensing / How It’s Sold

Sage 300 Cloud is licensed and sold on an annual subscription basis with 3 different payment options (monthly, annually or on a 3-year basis up-front). In this version you must keep paying your monthly subscription fee to get continued access to the software, and version, feature and software add-on updates.

Sage 300 (the perpetual version of Sage 300) is sold as a one-time software purchase and then you pay an annual software business care plan fee to get access to software updates, version updates and bug fixes.

Please note: Sage is not selling the perpetual software version to new customers (except under special circumstances).

Module Bundling

In Sage 300 Cloud the modules are bundled in one of three options – Essentials, Advanced and Complete Bundles. You always have the option to switch between bundles and purchase bundle add-ons, until you find the software configuration that best meets your needs.
